We are looking for a volunteer to teach on Monday Mornings. SAHA serves a very diverse demographic of seniors in the East Bay, a large percentage of which have limited English-speaking proficiency. The volunteer will work with residents who are eagerly seeking accessible English instruction to learn how to communicate in emergencies, converse with doctors and health care providers, and interact with others in everyday conversation. They are enthusiastic and greatly appreciate their ESL instructors. If you're looking to make a difference in your community, this is a wonderful opportunity to gain teaching experience with students who are eager to learn. Requirements: Ongoing SAHA Community Volunteers must commit to volunteer once a week for a minimum of 4 months, and must complete a volunteer orientation, volunteer forms and background screening prior to beginning their placement.
